A New and exciting cafe in Swindon coming to offer the best coffee, freshly prepared food and handmade cakes from their local bakery.
Brunel Centre, Swindon, SN1 1LF
Based at 4 Havelock Square just beside The Entertainer toy shop, near Iceland, Triple Two Coffee is fast becoming recognised as the premiére brand of coffee and food in Swindon. It has a highly-coveted 5-star rating on Tripadvisor for its service and tasty meals, but it’s more than just a coffee shop.
Before the store’s first birthday, this thriving family-owned franchise operation already has 4 franchisees on board with more waiting to be signed, which makes it a ‘good news’ story Swindoners should be proud of! Director David Hodgetts says “We’re delighted to be on track with the business and welcome the Mayor and the people of Swindon to celebrate our success and landmark birthday”. With special offers for loyalty card holders, below is a list of “What’s On” this week:
While this is fun, scratch below the surface and an inspiring story emerges of the way 23-year-old Sales Director David Hodgetts turned personal disaster into triumph! David started playing tennis age 7 and has played against many of the world’s top twenty tennis players but disaster struck with a persistent shoulder injury. His power serve dropped from 125 mph to 80 mph and that loss of power makes all the difference in top level tennis. He admits “After several failed cortisone injections, I had to call it a day and change career!”
He met his 21 year old partner Sezan over coffee at a top London tennis academy. He wasn’t even a coffee drinker at the time (oh the irony!) so together they explored different types of coffee. While working their way through the menu from Mocha to Latté to flat white coffee, their romance blossomed. David and Sezan invested in a coffee franchise and spent 8 months working as Baristas, opening five new stores. David’s operational experience and Sezan’s marketing and economics experience inspired them to dream big.
The UK coffee market has enjoyed 17 years of continued growth and diversification. Spotting the opportunity to develop a fresh style and proposition, the young couple are the driving force behind the ambition to build a nationwide franchise, giving them greater control. While discussing their ambitions, David’s Dad Graham Hodgetts joined the team as mentor, facilitator and chairman. Their goal has been professionalism at every level to compete with other High Street brand names. Judging by the quality of food, the venue, ambience and statistics so far, the company is holding its own. See www.tripletwocoffee.com
