REVIEW: Blenheim Palace Adventure Play & New Bee Trail – A Perfect Day Out for Energetic Kids

As a mum of two very active boys, aged 2 and 4, I’m always on the lookout for places where they can burn off their endless energy while having fun. Blenheim Palace Adventure Play is one of those rare gems where both my boys can run wild, explore, and learn all in one place. We recently spent a day there, and it’s safe to say we will be back.

From the moment we arrived, my boys were absolutely mesmerised. The Adventure Play is like stepping into a whole new world designed just for kids. My 4-year-old couldn’t wait to dive into the climbing frames, tunnels, and bridges, while my 2-year-old was just as excited to splash in the water.

What I loved most is how the play area really sparks their imagination. Whether they’re crawling through tunnels or zooming down slides, it’s more than just a playground—it’s an adventure. They were creating stories in their heads, pretending they were explorers, which made the experience even more magical.

A highlight of our trip was the brand-new Bee Trail, which runs throughout September. The boys loved buzzing around, following the bee-themed challenges in each play zone. It’s such a fun way to introduce kids to the importance of bees, and both my boys were captivated by the activities. When they finished the trail, they were over the moon to receive their special bee badges—it was the perfect reward for a day of adventure.

One thing I found useful is how the Adventure Play caters to children of different ages. My 2-year-old had just as much fun as my 4-year-old, even though they were drawn to different parts of the play area. It’s a huge relief to find somewhere where I don’t have to worry about one child being too young or too old to enjoy the space.

For mums like me, who often struggle to balance weekend activities with the need to tire out the kids, the Palace & Play Pass is an absolute lifesaver. It gave us unlimited access to the Adventure Play, as well as Blenheim Palace and its beautiful gardens, which means we can come back again and again without any pressure to fit everything into one visit. It’s perfect for after-school trips or weekend adventures.

All in all, Blenheim Palace Adventure Play (with the bonus of the Bee Trail) is a fantastic day out. Whether you have a toddler or an older child, there’s something for everyone. It’s not just about burning off energy—it’s a place where kids can be creative, learn something new, and most importantly, have fun. If you’re looking for a way to entertain your little ones, I’d recommend a visit!

Top tips:

The Adventure Play and Bee Adventure is in the Walled Garden which is to the left of the Blenheim estate. Park as left as you can to save little one’s legs – or bring a scooter to make the walk more enjoyable for them.

There’s a train from the Walled Garden to the Blenheim estate that runs every hour – worth doing so make sure you plan some extra time.

Take a change of clothes for your little one’s – water + kids = wet, wet wet!
