Catching On the Live Entertainment Trend in and Around Swindon

Live entertainment is making a huge comeback in Swindon and throughout Wiltshire. While there was the thought that all of the must-see shows on Sky as well as the massive availability of Netflix would keep most people watching the television when they wanted to have some fun, it seems that many people in our town prefer to go in a different, more traditional direction for their entertainment.

From the mayor’s fundraiser to performances and gaming, live entertainment is once again trending in Swindon, with some great opportunities to enjoy in and around the town.

Feel the beat of some live music

The mayor of Swindon, Councillor Kevin Parry, has put on many fundraising events throughout 2019, never failing to draw a crowd to support good causes. Next on the agenda is a night of live music and dancing at the Music Entertainment Cultural Arena in Swindon, showcasing the town’s finest talents. The billing for the charitable event includes Phoebe Maddison, Danzexpress, BigSingThing, Billy and Louie, and the Military Wives Choir. It’s sure to be a great night of entertainment on 23 November.

But if you want some live music a little sooner, or even want to make such an occasion a regular feature on your calendar, there are many pubs and bars around Swindon which have taken to set the stage for local talents. Over at The Beehive, you can enjoy some exciting live music performances on most Thursdays and Fridays while other themed nights are also put on throughout the week. In fact, The Beehive also offers some live gaming action, hosting a poker tournament every Monday night.

Enjoying the live gaming experience

Gaming continues to be a popular pastime throughout the United Kingdom, but the form which continues to trend upwards in popularity is that of live gaming. Players now know that to have a real life experience playing live blackjack, they simply need to turn to their phone or laptop to play Havana, Miami, Zurich, Tokyo, Paris, Monaco, Unlimited, or All Bets live blackjack on casino platforms such as Paddy Power's. The sheer volume of players from Swindon in these titles shows that there is a real desire to get the authentic live gaming experience that is unfortunately unavailable in the town of Swindon.

Those who do want to make an evening out of live gaming with their family or friends do have the option, however, to drive a mile westwards to the city of Bath. In Bath, you’ll find Century Casino opposite the Theatre Royal. The venue boasts a wide selection of slot machines and table games, including the likes of roulette, three-card poker, and punto banco. They also put on events and promotion evenings, such as Hot Seat Fridays, in which members can win an hour of free play on slot machines.

In a world where we have so much on-demand content to get through, now and then it’s good to turn off the television and experience some live entertainment. Be it enjoying the arts or playing some games, everyone can find an exciting live experience in and around Swindon.
