Famous Face to open Swindon Craft Event
Make It! & More, the craft, hobby & handmade show returns to Swindon on 28th & 29th September, at STEAM – the Museum of the Great Western Railway.
Actress, TV presenter and celebrity crafter Julie Peasgood will cut the ribbon, officially opening the event on Saturday at 10am.
Julie is passionate about crafts and has a regular monthly column in Crafts Beautiful magazine spearheading her latest venture, Supercraft Cruises - which has featured both Jennie Rainsford and Karen Holland, organisers of ‘Make It! & More.’
The 2-day show brings together inspirational makers and designers along with exhibitors selling a wide range of craft supplies and a busy programme of craft workshops.
The event is ideal for craft enthusiasts looking to discover new crafts and stock up on supplies and handmade goods.
Workshops on offer over the weekend include arm knitting, slow stitching, book making, silk painting, illustration, needle felting and more.
“We’re excited to bring the show back to Swindon”, says co-organiser Jennie Rainsford, “there are even more stallholders selling wonderful handmade items and a wide range of craft supplies. The unique aspect to the show is the broad range of taster workshops on offer, it’s a great opportunity to try out different crafts, whatever your ability. We’re so delighted Julie Peasgood is able to join us to launch the show – we’ve been working together on a number of projects and it’s great to be able to welcome Julie to Swindon.”
Workshops range from free to just £12 and are bookable online via the website. Remaining places will be available on the day.
Admission is £2.50 in advance and £3.00 on the door. Children 16 & under go free. Visitors benefit from reduced entry to STEAM. Book via the website at www.makeitandmore.co.uk Keep up to date on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MakeItAndMore.
