Geoff Marsh Panto Returns to Swindon Arts Centre this December with their latest Christmas Pantomime
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, It’s the most SUPER panto of all!
Geoff Marsh and his crazy gang are back at the Swindon Arts Centre with their latest original panto – THE CAPED AVENGERS.
This is Geoff’s 42nd year of writing pantos.
Geoff Marsh said: ‘I appeared in my first panto at 15 and wrote my first one when I was 16. It was a version of Cinderella that we toured around local schools.’
As then head of local group Stage Struck, Geoff produced his first Swindon panto – Aladdin in 2001. This was performed at Greendown school. It was such a hit that the group have performed a panto annually at the Swindon Arts Centre ever since. The group try to do slightly different pantos from the norm.
‘I love traditional panto, and we have done Cinderella, Dick Whittington, mother Goose and Babes in the Wood but I wrote an original panto ‘The Princess and The Dragon’ and so many people asked me to do more original pantos. Since then, we have done ‘Space Trek’ ‘Jurassic Lark’ and ‘The Magic Toymaker’’.
Geoff Marsh pantos may be original stories, but they are absolutely traditional pantos with lots of comedy, sketches, audience participation, slapstick scenes and music.
‘This year the panto is a spoof on Superhero movies. There have been so many great Marvel and DC movies with Iron Man, Batman, Superman, and many others. We thought it was time superheroes got the full panto treatment’.
