Describe your music in 3 words…
Iconic, anthemic, familiar
How did Genesis Connected come together? How did your career start?
I Learned to drum at the age of 12 after hearing the famous Phil Collins In the Air Tonight drum fill and played in various bands for many years until people started to notice my vocals sounded like Phil’s, I then appeared on Stars in Their Eyes in 1999 and got to the final. Genesis Connected came about when the Keyboard player, Chris Woods and myself who are lifelong friends talked about all our favourite music being connected to Genesis in some way, We thought the vast collection of hits would make a great show!
What can people expect to see from your Wyvern Theatre show on 1st October?
The show is full of hits from the late 70s to the 90s from Genesis and the biggest selling artists connected - Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel and Mike & the Mechanics. Being a drummer at heart I also replicate the Phil Collins performance by drumming iconic moments including a drum Duet.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
Its very hard to narrow it down, Playing two large festivals in Germany was amazing, also Supporting the actual Chas and Dave in Dagenham was awesome.
Have you performed at the Wyvern Theatre before? Are you excited to do a show here in Swindon?
We have been coming to Swindon for quite a few years now, The crowd are always fantastic and with all the weird stuff that’s gone on in the world in the last few years it’ll be great to see them again.
What’s your favourite song to perform?
In The Air Tonight is always fun to do, I can see the anticipation in the audience as they know that big drum part is coming.
What 3 things do you always do before a show?
Drink water, drink warm honey and lemon and nervously pace a lot!
