New drama class opens in town
September 15th will see the Swindon Youth Theatre opening a new weekly drama class on Monday evenings for 5 & 6 year old children in the town.
Classes will include games, exercises and themed workshops that enhance creativity, build confidence and help with self- expression of the children in attendance.
Aaron Parsons, a trained Theatre Director who’s alumni of the Bristol Old Vic and will be in charge of the new class said:
‘We are delighted to now be able to work with children as young as 5 (currently 7) through our youth theatre. There’s so much scope for children of this age to stretch their imaginations and make new friends, and it always amazes me how through experimenting with words, actions and feelings in a safe, fun and encouraging environment, their language and communication skills seem to develop really quickly’.
In essence, the class is opening as the result of demand from under 7s whose older siblings attend the sessions for 7-25 year olds, and were not able to join in.
Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People runs Swindon Youth Theatre at The Wyvern Theatre. All classes will be taught by skilled drama practitioners with a warmth and passion for acting, and members are of mixed ability. Details can be found at: sixthsensetyp.co.uk
