REVIEW: Picture You Dead at Wyvern Theatre
I had the pleasure of watching Picture You Dead at the Wyvern Theatre, and it was a gripping old-fashioned thriller that kept the audience hooked from start to finish.
The story followed a couple who unknowingly bought a valuable painting for just £20 at a car boot sale. After taking it to Antiques Roadshow, they were told it was likely authentic—but needed further confirmation. Unfortunately, their good fortune attracted the attention of two ruthless villains, one of whom was desperate to complete his secret collection of The Seasons paintings.
What followed was a tense game of cat and mouse, with an ex-con being recruited to steal the painting, leading to moments of danger, deception, and unexpected twists.
The production was visually impressive, with an immersive set that truly brought the story to life. The use of props, special effects, and intense moments—like gunshots, fire, and even a torture scene—added to the high-stakes atmosphere. Every actor delivered a standout performance, making the tension all the more believable.
If you enjoy a classic thriller packed with suspense, surprises, and a touch of old-school mystery, Picture You Dead is an absolute must-see.
