REVIEW: An Evening With Ant Middleton & Pre-Theatre Meal
We checked out An Evening with Ant Middleton at the Wyvern Theatre after we enjoyed a glorious Pre-Theatre Meal at the Jurys Inn Swindon.
Tuesday night saw the SAS: Who Dares Wins, Mutiny and Escape star, Ant Middleton come to the Wyvern Theatre to present his ‘An Evening with Ant Middleton’ show. Having secured some tickets to the highly anticipated, sold-out show my partner and I were extremely excited about hearing what he had to say. To kick off our chilly, snow covered evening we decided to take advantage of the superb Pre-Theatre meal for two at the Jurys Inn. We enjoyed 3 courses each and a bottle of wine for just £39!!! Now I’m sure I don’t need to spell out the math to tell you how good value that is!
Starting our evening at the Jurys Inn we were swiftly escorted to our seats and presented with the delightful set menus for us to make the very difficult decisions of what we were going to begin our evening with. The menu was simple yet diverse catering for a range of tastes. My partner and I chose: Salt & Pepper Squid and Halloumi Skewers to start, Fish & Chips for mains and Sticky Toffee Pudding a Chocolate Brownie Sundae for Desserts. All washed down with a tasty bottle of White Wine. Food was served promptly and every aspect of our was delicious and perfectly cooked, an incredible way to set up an evening at the theatre!
Making the short, freezing walk up the hill to the Wyvern Theatre we quickly got ourselves some drinks and found our seats for the evening in anticipation for the evening to start. As soon as Ant took to the stage he had the audience in the palm of his hand, sharing exciting anecdotes from his time in the forces to funny behind the scenes comments of his time on television, he instantly grabbed my attention.
Using his own experience of the extraordinary, Ant was able to bring you into his world and take you out the other side of the show with knowledge of how you can translate this into your own world, regardless of your situation. With a message of positive mindset, taking challenges and putting yourself out of your own comfort zone, Ant was able to leave you feeling motivated, driven and ready to tackle anything that life throws at you (especially useful as I am running Bath Half on Sunday!).
Ant’s stories, anecdotes and experiences are truly amazing. Personally I have never been so captivated by someone speaking at length about a range of subjects. I was left moved, motivated and driven, ready to tackle my next challenge. I would recommend anyone to go and speak to Ant Middleton speak, regardless if you are a fan of the TV work he has done. Ant will have you gripped, smiling and bring a tear to your eye all in the space of a few minutes and with his message of positivity, will drive you to smash that next obstacle in your way!
A trip to the Wyvern is always an entertaining evening with great facilities, wonderfully friendly staff always a great range of shows, you can be guaranteed that you will have a great evening out. Now top that off with a Pre-Theatre meal at The Jurys Inn Swindon, you’re sure to have a really special evening. I could not recommend it enough.
