REVIEW: Circus Extreme Comes to Swindon

Circus Extreme promised an evening of heart-stopping stunts, mind-bending acrobatics, and a mesmerising fusion of circus arts and extreme performances. I attended the show with high expectations, and I'm pleased to say that the Circus Extreme did not disappoint.

The first thing that struck me upon entering the circus grounds was the colourful tent and bustling vendors offering circus treats, from cotton candy, hot dogs, slush puppies to popcorn.

The show kicked off with a bang, as the fearless Danguir Troupe performed their double wheel of death stunt. Their breathtaking stunts captivated and enthralled the audience.

During the set transitions, the world-famous Henry entertained the entire audience with his exceptional comedic talent, ensuring that there was never a dull moment during the show.

Throughout the evening, Swindon Circus Extreme showcased a diverse array of acts. The Ayala Troupe performed their award-winning high wire act. Equally impressive was Super Silva Junior, his mind-blowing daredevil performance showcased incredible agility, trapeze, and balancing skills all performed in a unique style for this new production. Equally astonishing and hair-raising was his high rooftop stroll while upside down.

One of my favourites, was Laura Miller who showcased her impressive aquatic aerial ring. Dipping into a huge bowl of water, she executed graceful flips within the water before elegantly reaching for the hoop, creating a beautiful spray of water in the process.

There were also death-defying airborne stunts including the unmissable Aerial Duo Polischuk, who is one of the few acts in the World to perform these mid-air stunts, we watched in awe as they held each other by their teeth high in the roof of the tent.

The finale had fearless motorbike riders that roared into the arena, that performed incredible stunts within the confines of a small steel globe. The precision and timing of these riders were impeccable, leaving the audience gasping in disbelief at the close calls.

Next, the ramp emerged, and the motorbike riders executed remarkable leaps over the steel globe. This held the audience spellbound and truly served as a spectacular conclusion to an outstanding show.

This event truly offers something for everyone. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie, or simply eager to witness one of the greatest shows in Swindon, be sure to secure your tickets as the show is running until Sunday 10th September 2023.
