TGt Meets… Scouting For Girls

‘She’s So Lovely’, Elvis Aint Dead’, ‘Heartbeat’, ‘I Wish I Was James Bond’ and UK #1 ‘This Ain’t A Love Song’ - you know them all! English pop rock band Scouting For Girls are performing at the upcoming Lechlade Music Festival (25th - 27th May). So we thought we'd have a chat, here's what they had to say about what you can expect from their show!

How would you describe your music?

Fun pop that's great for dancing to with your mates having a drink at a festival.

What can festival-goers expect from your live show?

Definitely She's so lovely! It's a guarantee and a fun energetic show with lots of audience participation!

What are the main differences between playing festivals and regular gigs?

Ones outside?

Who have been your biggest musical influences?

We all grew up in the musical hotbed of Ruislip around the time when Brit pop was huge. So bands like oasis and blur were massive influences to us. And pop music from all eras too from the Beatles, beach boys the cheeky girls.

What have been your fondest memories from one of your shows?

Probably playing a sell out Wembley arena. It' was kind of a hometown gig for us and we got to say "HELLO WEMBLEY."

Are you going to be exploring much of the local area when you’re in Lechlade for the festival?

I might go and see the Cotswolds Woollen Weavers, the trip adviser reviews are off the chain!! Or Kelmscott Manor House! I just can't decide, there's to much choice!

To survive a music festival, what are your three essentials you need in your luggage?

  • Alcohol!
  • Sun glasses!
  • Monster munch!
  • In that order

What’s next for the band?

I'm working on a musical based on the classic 80s movie Ghostbusters called "who you gonna call"
but also loads more festivals! And planning our 2019 Christmas tour.

If you could pick one highlight from your career so far, what would it be?

I'd say the Lechlade Festival! I know it's not happened yet but it's gonna be mega!! So get your tickets now!
