The Wyvern Theatre Bring Ashleigh and Pudsey to Play
On Saturday 24 October, the Wyvern Theatre opens its doors for the return of their annual free Family Fun Day.
With the line-up now confirmed, Swindon Theatres Marketing Manager holds particularly high hopes for the action packed event.
“After the success of the last two years we can’t wait to welcome the local community back into the theatre as a whole for Family Fun Day. This year’s plans are bigger and better than ever with appearances from our star performers, family workshops, story times, live music and much more … and it’s all free! It’s a really great opportunity for families to engage with the Theatre and to explore what we have to offer for all ages over the coming season.” said Laura James, Marketing Manager, Swindon Theatres.
Visitors can expect appearances from stage stars including Santa’s Elves from this year’s Arts Centre Christmas show Santa Claus and the Christmas Adventure, Mr Potato from Pepper Pig Live and, not forgetting, sessions with Britain’s Got Talent duo Ashleigh and Pudsey. The TV favourites BGT winners will be holding two sessions ahead of their brand new show Mission Impudseyble, coming to the Wyvern Theatre in March. Each session will involve a Q&A and mini performance, along with a chance to meet the pair for photos.
Sixth Sense Youth Theatre will be hosting spooky Halloween drama and storytelling workshops in conjunction with the event, with free tickets available to book in advance, while Swindon Dance open their doors for free family dance workshops from 9.30am-2.15pm. Children and families can also wander over to Swindon Central Library at 11am for a special Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs story time, featuring Queen Griselda from this year’s pantomime cast.
Other family activities at the Family Fun Day include a ‘Pepper Pig Land’ soft-play area, magic with Juggling John, biscuit decorating; face painting, Mr Maker crafts and live music provided by Holmes Music.
The event takes place from 10am-1pm on Sat 24 October at Wyvern Theatre and is free to attend.
