REVIEW: Wizard Of Oz (Summer Youth Project) at the Wyvern Theatre
I had the absolute pleasure of attending the performance of "The Wizard of Oz" at the Wyvern Theatre on Thursday 17th August, and I must say, it was a magical experience that transported the audience to the enchanting land of Oz.
The cast's performance was nothing short of exceptional. Dorothy's innocence and determination were beautifully portrayed. Bethany Tunley, who played the role of Dorothy, delivered an outstanding performance, gracing us with her beautiful rendition of "Over the Rainbow."
The Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion brought their characters to life with humor, heart, and genuine camaraderie that made their bond truly heartwarming. And of course, the portrayal of the Wicked Witch was delightfully wicked.
One of the highlights of the production was the incorporation of innovative visual effects. The tornado scene, in particular, was a dazzling spectacle that had the entire audience on the edge of their seats. The choreography created a truly immersive experience, making us feel as if we were swirling right alongside Dorothy on her journey.
The performance of "Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead" was absolutely fantastic, and the munchkins truly shone with their vibrant and captivating costumes.
The choreography was absolutely brilliant, the dancers gracefully performed in the aisles right beside the audience, a brilliant and immersive choice that added to the overall magic of the experience.
Wyvern Theatre's production of "The Wizard of Oz" was an absolute triumph.
