Your Total Guide To family
Now, though, you are on your own or with a partner. So, during times like this, is it possible to move out and about in Swindon? Yes it is! Sure, you do have to take certain precautions and be careful about what you do. As long as you adhere to the guidelines below, though, you shouldn’t face any issues.
So, let’s get started with what you can do:
Know the Precautions
First things first, you need to know how to keep your baby safe. This means brushing up on the necessary precautions. Now, adults and children over the age of 2 are encouraged to wear masks. Infants and babies shouldn’t, however, as this can restrict their breathing. So, don’t cover your baby’s face.
Make sure to keep your distance from other people on the street or in stores. Staying at least a metre away from people is a good start. This is especially true if they aren’t wearing a mask. Don’t let other people – known or unknown – touch or carry your baby.
In a similar manner, avoid setting your baby down in a public high chair or any other place that they can touch other surfaces. If they do make contact with other surfaces, wash their hands or use a sanitized wet cloth.
Carefully Arrange Meetings
You and your baby don’t have to be completely isolated. It is still possible for you to meet up with other mums and babies. You just have to follow the rules and keep the meet-up safe for all. Currently, a rule of six is in place across the country.
This means that a limit of five people not living in the same household can meet in one spot. Even then, social distancing rules have to be applied. So, go ahead and have a mummy-and-me meet-up in a clean and safe environment. As long as the rules are adhered to, it should make for a fun outing.
Exit the House Completely Prepared
Naturally, when you are leaving the house with a baby, you need to be prepared. However, this becomes even more important during this pandemic period. After all, popping into stores and picking up on the top milk products, for instance, isn’t as simple as it once was.
So, always take stock of what you are going to need. For example, if you will be out for a few hours, your little one will need to be fed. This means that you should pump and carry breast milk. In case your little one has been weaned out to formula, make sure you take enough water and powder.
Of course, you should also take plenty of nappies, wipes, extra clothing, etc. The more prepared you are for this outing, the better. If you don’t want to carry too much with you, try packing a separate bag and leaving it in your car, if possible. This way, you can simply pop back if you need something.
Head Out During Down Times
Now, dodging people on the street isn’t all that easy. So, how can you make sure that your baby is exposed to as few people as possible? Well, this can be accomplished by only heading out during the down periods. This could be when everyone is supposed to be at work, for instance.
When you go out during down times, there are hardly any people on the road and in stores. This means that you don’t have to make as much of an effort to avoid people. In turn, you are drastically reducing your baby’s risk of getting sick as well. Thus, this gives you the best of both worlds.
This is how you can you can go outside with your baby and still keep them safe. So, if this is something that you are planning on doing, make sure to follow these guidelines carefully.
