Review: Spa Day and Afternoon Tea at De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel

Last month, two very deserving ladies had the pleasure of experiencing a spa day and afternoon tea in the wonderful 4 star Four Pillar Hotel located in the beautiful Cotswold Water Park. Here's what they thought about the day...

Had the pleasure of a relaxing spa day & afternoon tea at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel today, from start to finish the whole day was amazing and being a mum of two boys made for a welcome change to see mud appear in a beauty treatment as opposed to on the bottom of football boots.

Arrived at the hotel around 10am and was greeted by the spa director Louise who was welcoming, warm, friendly & informative. We were given treatment times and a time for our afternoon tea however the afternoon tea time given didn’t suit. However, without hesitation the receptionist was more than happy to change our time.

We were given robes and shown through to the changing rooms, after a few obligatory selfies in our robes we made our way to the treatment rooms where I had a 60 minute massage. The massage can only be described as heavenly....I’ll be honest, I don’t do anything very well so spent the first 5 minutes thinking...can I really lie here for 60 minutes? However, my thoughts soon disappeared. I momentarily fell asleep and may even have dribbled a bit before awaking and hoping the massage would never end. After the treatment had finished, I was given a sheet that identified areas of tension and some Decleor products. I didn’t buy any and didn’t feel pressured into doing so which was nice.

After our massage, we relaxed in the beautifully dimly lit relaxation room and read a magazine before heading down to the pool area where we enjoyed time in the sauna and steam room. I did pop my head into the gym but that’s as far as I went! However, I was impressed at the facilities available. (I had conveniently forgotten my trainers!

Next came afternoon tea and...WOW. What a treat that was! A beautiful birdcage full of simple sandwiches and gorgeous cakes; it was a treat fit for a king! We were offered the option of taking any left overs away and we did. The afternoon tea was serviced with a pot of tea and also a glass of prosecco which complimented the delicious food perfectly.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel. We would readily return and recommend to anyone looking for a day of pampering!
