My Little Pony, marketed primarily towards young girls started as a line of plastic pony toys produced in 1983 has also inspired a television series and feature length film.

The ponies now even have their own story-telling app, Facebook page and a fandom that has exploded across the Internet.

Although the show was initially aimed at girls aged 2 to 11, now it is not just that demographic who love the ponies.
