Always Wanted to Star in Your Own Movie...Well Now You Can
Create Studios are providing local youngsters with the opportunity to devise, shoot and star in their own movies.
As part of their summer activities courses, Create Studios are allowing keen young film makers (aged between 11-16) to lay their hands on professional camera’s and editing software.
During the 'Skate Nation' and 'Toy Nation' projects, professional film-makers will be on hand to guide and advice participants as they create and star in their own short films.
Create Studios is a state-of-the-art digital media centre, with facilities in the centre of Swindon, and a mobile studio. The council funded initiative works with industry professionals, those with special needs, and children and young people.
Between Tuesday 30th July and Thursday 1st August, the first project 'Skate Nation' takes place, giving extreme sports enthusiasts the chance to make their own movie about skateboarding, BMXing and scootering. The three day course costs £80 per person and can be booked by calling the Arts Centre box office.
Priced at £95, the second of the two projects 'Toy Nation' will then run between Monday 5th to Thursday 8th August and give young people with special educational needs the opportunity to bring along a toy to feature in a movie.
Using stop frame animation, professional tutors will guide participants through the film making process to earn a bronze Arts Awards.
All courses are taking place at Create Studios, based in the Wyvern Theatre, Theatre Square, Swindon, SN1 1QN.
