Let's Talk
Be Bright, Be Colourful, Be Early For Prospect Hospice Events
People wanting to take part in two bright and colourful fundraising events are being encouraged to sign up early by Prospect Hospice after a steady flow of registrations since the launch of their 2015 events booklet. What’s more, people signing up now for the Starlight Walk in June, or September's Run the Rainbow colour run, can save on their registration fee by taking advantage of an early-bird scheme that the charity currently offers.
The Starlight Walk is a firm favourite on the hospice’s calendar, but Run the Rainbow is a new event that’s the first of its type in the local area. The annual Starlight Walk is now in its eighth year, and has over time raised thousands of pounds for the hospice, which last year cared for and supported over 5,700 people from across the community. The income raised from the Starlight Walk is specifically for their nursing care for which Prospect Hospice has received widespread praise. The theme for last year, Light up the Night, proved such a hit that it'll be seen again this year, with new illuminated surprises and walkers being encouraged to don bright, colourful and glowing clothes for the event.
Run the Rainbow promises to be just as eye catching in a very different way, as the hospice brings a colour run-style event to the locality for the first time in September. For the event, runners are invited to run, walk, skip or dance the 5km course at Wroughton Airfield, where they'll be showered with coloured powder paint, reaching the end in all the colours of the rainbow. Until the end of March, registration for the Starlight Walk is just £12, and Run the Rainbow is just £15.
Genevieve Arney from the Prospect Hospice, who organised the events, is encouraging anyone keen to take part in either event to register early. “The Starlight Walk is always our biggest fundraising event of the year,” she says, “and already the number of people who have registered so far shows 2015 is going to be a great year. We are also hugely encouraged that so many people have already signed up for Run the Rainbow. We’re so excited about this new event, and it promises to be great fun on the day. My message to anyone who wants to take part in either event is to register now while we still have spaces available and the early bird offer is still open.”
You can register for Prospect Hospice’s Starlight Walk by visiting www.prospect-hospice.net/starlight , and to for Run the Rainbow at www.prospect-hospice.net/runtherainbow. Both of these events has a suggested fundraising target of £100. They're both generously supported by Imagine Cruising.
