Book Review: The Glaswegian Part 2 & 3
Following on from her original review of The Glaswegian, Patricia Ledger shares her views on parts two and three.
We were eagerly awaiting the follow up to The Glaswegian by local Swindon author Kenny Adamson and we were not disappointed.
This second book covers Parts 2 and 3 of the Trilogy following the life and experiences of Sandy MacLeod (the Glaswegian).
At the end of the first novel we left Sandy settling down to his life in his Scottish Mansion and 20 years on Sandy is living a lonely life in Castle MacLeod. He is suddenly offered a vast sum of money by the American CIA to track down and locate Osama bin Laden and there follows another cracking tale as he accomplishes this mission.
After this escapade Sandy visits some old friends in Kuwait where another explosive situation faces him and following this he returns to Glasgow, coming face to face with his past where another intriguing and interesting tale unfolds.
Part 3 begins with Sandy`s exploits as he tries to establish a security business in Glasgow and the pitfalls, threats and violence he encounters from a ruthless gangster mob. Along the way he has fallen in love with a young beautiful Arab woman who helps him in his mission to deal with the gangsters once and for all.
Parts 2 and 3 of The Glaswegian is a fitting sequel to Part One - fast paced, full of intrigue, espionage, adventure and romance. This was a thoroughly enjoyable read and we fully recommend it.
