With the 5 day Christmas window revised to just one day (Christmas Day) last week, and now the spread of a new variant of COVID-19 prominent in London and parts of the South East, Matt Hancock has today announced that more areas of the South of England will move into Tier 3 and Tier 4 from 00:01 on Boxing Day.
Swindon has narrowly avoided moving from Tier 2 into Tier 4, although neighbouring counties such as Hampshire and Oxfordshire have been placed in the highest tier category. Other areas of the South West such as Somerset, Gloucestershire and Bristol will also be moved into Tier 3, although Wiltshire will remain in Tier 2.
More as we get it, but in the meantime, you can check which tier your area is in by clicking here.
