The Brunel Swindon
The Brunel is the heart of Swindon shopping with over 110 shops including independent stores, cafes and eateries
Brunel Plaza, Swindon, SN1 1LF
WebsiteFeaturing professional actors, the comedy will tell the story of three First World War veterans who plot an escape from their mundane lives within a care home. Heroes is Tom Stoppard’s interpretation and adaptation of the 2003 French play Le Vent Des Peupliers by Gérald Sibleyras.
Brunel Marketing Manager Jane Stewart said: “We felt it was important for The Brunel Centre to help Swindon commemorate World War One and so, as one of several events to mark this occasion, we decided to commission this well-known play and to bring it to the people of Swindon. It will be a great evening out, and something a little bit different too, it’s not every day that you get to watch professional theatre in your local shopping centre. We are expecting it to be a really popular event so would encourage people to get their tickets early”.
The performance takes place on Thursday 11th September 2014 downstairs in The Brunel Arcade, outside of Boswells Café/House of Fraser. The evening will start at 6.30pm with supper and a glass of wine at Boswells. The performance commences at 7.15pm and is approximately 2 hours long, finishing at 9.15pm. Tickets for seats cost £12 and are available from The Centre Management Suite, first floor of Brunel Plaza, or from Boswells café, ground floor Brunel Arcade.
