Following the news everyone wanted to hear yesterday as the UK Government announced a coronavirus vaccination programmer would begin next week, Swindon’s Great Western Hospital has been included on an NHS Trusts shortlist of locations that will be set up as a vaccine hub.
Vaccine hubs will provide an easy way for people to get their coronavirus vaccination as part of a project to centralise the locations of places where people can receive their vaccine jab. The Great Western Hospital appears to have been registered as a vaccine hub along with the Oxford Health NHS Foundation and the North Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
Mass vaccination will begin at these hubs however GP surgeries, care homes, and even some sporting venues across the country will be open for people to receive the Coronavirus vaccine.
After the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine was approved for rollout in the UK yesterday, vaccinations will begin next week with NHS frontline staff, care home residents, and those over 80 years old set to be the first people to receive the Covid-19 vaccination.
