Healthy Bones
Keeping fit is crucial to staying healthy, and TGtS can help you keep on top of your game with your regular advice column from top Personal Trainer Matt Gleed.
This week, Matt focusses on the importance of exercise to keep your bones in tip top condition.
Achy bones? Sore Knees? Hands stinging?
Did you know that as when we are born we have 300 bones? And as we grow and develop into our posture the bones start to fuse together to give us the posture and skeleton that is capable of weight bearing and moving?
The common areas that fuse and join are in the back, feet and hands.
As an adult we have 206 bones and common joint problems can be prevented by just 30mins of activity a minimum of 3 times a week.
More than this is needed to improve fitness, loose weight or develop better performance in any physical activity.
Often bone discomfort can be from tight muscles or tendons that cover an area but sometimes fractures can be caused and in the case of the foot bones can be common. If you experience discomfort for an extended period of time contact your doctor for advice.
Then come and see us to help you with a massage or fitness programme to help you resolve it!
