Highworth Based Salon Reaches Regional Finals of Colour Trophy

A HIGHWORTH based salon is the only hairdressers in the Swindon region to make it through to the Western Regional Finals of the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy.

Karoliina Saunders, of Karoliina Saunders Hair Design in Sheep Street, Highworth, joined forces with stylist, Lauren Soley, to produce a stunning entry for the high profile competition.

Tasked with creating a look that is fashion forward but also includes classic elements, the pair also had to present a colour that is unique and could set future trends! While Karoliina created the colour, Lauren took care of the cut.

Using a pallet of soft red shades which worked perfectly with a cut that cleverly mixed structured and unstructured, the stylists were thrilled to be one of only 30 salons across the region to make the finals held at Cheltenham Race Course.

It is more than 10 years since Karoliina last entered the competition and, for Lauren, it was the first time and therefore quite a daunting experience.

Karoliina said: “This competition is one of the most prestigious in our industry and we were thrilled to get the chance to compete.

“Being selected as a regional finalist was an enormous accolade and we’re incredibly proud. It has made us determined to enter once again next year and hopefully progress through to the Grand Finals”

This latest success follows hard on the heels of other competition successes and creative challenges that have helped put the salon on the map this year.

Karoliina starred in the hit TV show, Extreme Hair Wars and enjoyed plenty of success alongside her team at Hair Club live events across the UK.

Karoliina added: “We decided that this was the year we really put Highworth and our salon on the map so we have embarked on a busy programme of competition and show work as well as visiting local schools to promote hairdressing as a career.”
