Industry-renowned qualification awarded to Kelly Ashby Nail Academy

Based in Swindon, we met up with CEO Kelly Wilson to discuss the achievement and what this means for students at the Kelly Ashby Nail Academy.

Speaking on her recent success, Kelly said:

“I wanted to showcase the training that I undertake gives the best training possible to my students at the Kelly Ashby Nail Academy,” said Kelly.

“I’ve been in the business for 22 years and I still go on training courses every year because it's important to keep updated with new techniques and new products.

“The industry has changed lots, when I first started it was just manicures and pedicures, and now there are so many brands on the market that it’s important to have lots of knowledge on different products,” she said.

“Without the proper training you can cause an awful lot of damage to people’s nails and that’s something that I cover in my courses.

“This qualification was Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation in England) regulated and that is really important because it means my students know they will be receiving high-quality training,” said Kelly.

The qualification is one of the most extensive training courses available in the industry and covered different learning styles and how to adapt training, teaching and learning approaches, engaging and motivating learners, and lots more.

“The maximum class size I offer is four people. I feel that only teaching a small group means that each student has my full attention,” stated Kelly.

“My class sizes mean students get my full attention and this helps put them at ease as well. I incorporate a variety of training styles and adjust my training to everyone’s needs as I am aware that some people can feel anxious and having smaller groups helps them feel comfortable.

“We do practicals throughout the day and I am always on hand to give tips and offer guidance. I assess everyone throughout the day and this helps take the stress out of getting your qualification," said Kelly.
