New College Swindon and Swindon & Wiltshire Institute of Technology Launch First Trade Recruitment Event

New College Swindon and the Swindon and Wiltshire Institute of Technology are launching their first ‘Teach Your Trade’ recruitment event on Wednesday 14th June.

The event seeks to attract plumbers, bricklayers, engineers, carpenters, electricians and automotive mechanics who may be considering switching to a career in teaching.  

The event, which takes place on Wednesday 14th June, will focus on how those currently working in the trade can inspire the next generation, as well as the benefits associated with a career in teaching. The College has many current members of staff who previously worked in the trade, including bricklaying lecturer Steve Southern who has a distinguished 50-year association with New College Swindon.  

Visitors are invited to attend informal, drop-in sessions between 5.00pm and 6.30pm when they will be able to talk to the teaching team and learn about the opportunities that a teaching career would offer.
