Teams responsible for the wellbeing and care of residents and their families have been pushed to their limits during their pandemic as they optimised their efforts to provide residents with the best care, entertainment, and reassurance that things would eventually get back to normal.
To celebrate #GladtoCare awareness week taking place between the 5th and 9th of July, the team at Blunsdon St Andrew-based Ridgeway Rise joined their residents for a host of weekly activities that allowed them to express their creativity, have fun, and celebrate life.
Motivational Monday -
Kicking off #GladtoCare week, Motivational Monday saw Ridgeway Rise team members list the reasons they enjoy their job and get up to try their dance skills as they did happy dances to charge their batteries for the week ahead.
Tasty Tuesday -
Tasty Tuesday lived up to its name as the team at Ridgeway Rise indulged in some delicious guilty pleasures as they competed in the best Mug Cake competition. There were some amazing creations by the team that certainly went down a treat with everyone involved.
Wisdom Wednesday -
They say you can learn lots of wisdom from your elders and that is certainly the case at Ridgeway Rise care home as the team and residents shared words of wisdom on life, education, and school (wearing graduation gowns); and read funny school jokes and anecdotes that gave everyone a laugh.
Thankful Thursday -
With Glad to Care week honouring the outstanding efforts of the care industry, it was the Ridgeway Rise residents who wanted to show their gratitude to the people who care for them on a daily basis. Gathering outside the home's main building, they made and presented a 'Thankful' sign for the team; along with singing songs and cheering their carers and nurses.
Feel Good Friday -
To cap off a brilliant week, it was time for everyone to let their hair down for a Feel Good Friday that saw Ridgeway Rise host a beach party in the garden with team members presenting traditional dances from different countries, playing beach ball, enjoying ice cream and having lots of fun.
This week showcased that care is not only about tasks, it's about building a bond between carers and residents, having fun together, living every day to its fullest and being grateful for the special people in our life.
