Let's Talk
Satisfaction
How have you been? No, really, how have you been? Are you happy? Healthy? Enjoying life? This insightful blog post is by T2 Fitness about job satisfaction...
Have you ever heard the phrase ‘If you enjoy what you do you’ll never work a day in your life? Well its true!
Think about it, you spend on average 8 hours a day at work. That’s 384 hours per year with average annual leave. That’s a long time to spend not being completely content. Now, I’m not here to tell you that the fitness industry is all roses, it isn’t. Its hard work, early mornings, late finishes, anti-social hours giving high-fives to sweaty clients! But it is one of the only industries that is exactly as exciting and prosperous as you make it.
Most all careers will give back what you put in but more often than not that is a negative rather than a positive. There are only so many ways to spice up a spreadsheet, to deliver a presentation and to balance the books at the end of the month but in the fitness industry you can employ multiple tools, techniques and styles to cater to exactly the kind of requirements your clients need. Not to mention the reward you feel when they exceed their own limits and expectations. This is the kind of feedback you can only receive from human contact.
There are many examples of career changes T2 Fitness has taken on in recent years. We’ve had carpenters, teachers, scaffolders and shop workers. All looking for a way out of one industry and a route into another.
Clayton was our scaffolder. Manual work was all he had ever done and it showed! He turned up on day 1 of his Gym instructor course looking the part but surprised by the content he would have to learn. Practical was never going to be a problem but the theory side of things was another story.
Credit to him though, Clayton got his head down and passed his Level 2 and progressed to Level 3 where he showed his true colours. Using every ounce of his personality, outgoing nature, pleasant demeanour and using brains he never knew he had Clayton passed his level 3 just recently.
Now he’s working in a prominent local gym and signed up his first client almost immediately. He has achieved the career change he wanted, wakes up in the morning wanting to go to work and spends his days sharing his passion for fitness.
Can you say the same?
