A small parcel of land in Swindon’s Old Town has been sold at auction for £35,500, far exceeding its £10,000 guide price.

The 137-metre-long, 0.5-acre plot is situated between houses off Mill Lane and is currently overgrown, with access to the Old Town railway path and a bridleway along one side.

Listed by Strakers in their December auction catalogue, the land attracted significant interest due to its sought-after location. The listing described the site as sloping towards the railway line and adjoining properties in the desirable Old Town area.

Property prices in the Mill Lane area reflect its appeal, with an average listing price of £1,140,000 over the past year, according to Rightmove. Sold property prices in the area have also seen a 47% increase compared to their 2020 peak of £777,500
