Snapped: Regent Circus Open Night
Roll up, roll up the circus is in town!
On Thursday night, a handful of specially invited guests were treated to a first glimpse of the Regent Circus development in Swindon town centre.
The former Swindon College campus was demolished back in January 2013 to make way for the new retail and leisure destination.
At the start of August, the development was bought for more than £40m by the same investment company who owns The Parade shopping centre.
However, although both areas are now owned by UK Commercial Property Trust, they will be run as entirely separate entities.
During the event, guests were treated to performances by a string of Circus acts including gymnasts, strong men and aerial hoop artists.
It is hoped that the new development will boost the town's night time offering and attract people back into the town centre after 5.00pm.
At present Cineworld, Morrisons, Prezzo, Nando's, Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Jimmy Spices have all signed up for a place in the the new facility, which is set to open later this year.
