Snapped: Sustrans Swindon Bus & Bike Breakfast

Thursday 30th October saw Sustrans, the transport charity, conclude their month-long Bike & Bus Breakfast events at Swindon Railway Station on a high! TGtS was there to join in...

The promotion saw anyone travelling by bus or bike on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month rewarded with a free breakfast and hot drink. These events were aimed at promoting more sustainable transport use to and from Swindon Railway Station, and to highlight the recently-upgraded cycle parking facilities there.

Nina Gillespie, Sustrans Project Officer, commented “We have seen a fantastic turnout at these events, with more than 250 individuals taking part.  Station users are definitely becoming more and more interested in alternatives to car use.  Travelling by bike or bus is perfect for short, local trips, and can help regular commuters to save money and stay fit and healthy.”
