Snapped: Swindon 105.5 Royal Visit

On Monday the 27th of October, His Royal Highness Prince Edward the Duke of Kent paid a visit to community radio station Swindon 105.5 to present it with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. TGtS was present for this royal occasion...

HRH Prince Edward came to Swindon 105.5 to present the organisation with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour available to volunteer groups, and to tour the station that has provided the town with high quality radio output, and is funded by grants, fundraising and generous donations.

But of course His Royal Highness was not the only familiar face visiting the station, as the 2012 X Factor runner-up, notable Swindonian and all round nice guy Jahmene Douglas also paid the station a visit, giving his blessing to the sterling work that goes on there.

It's safe to think that Swindon 105.5 fm is a very well deserving recipient of such a high-calibre award.
