STEP Swindon is a registered charity that’s assisted local young people aged 7 – 18 by running therapeutic group sessions. Their Saturday group caters to people with disabilities, aged 8 – 25. This organisation strives to connect with children facing isolation and exclusion, whether due to their social skills, personal situations, or financial struggles, in both Swindon and beyond.
Utilising innovative methods like therapeutic group work, they empower young people to thrive and contribute positively to society. Teaching essential life and social skills is at the core of STEP Swindon’s purpose, and children’s progress is acknowledged through accreditation along the way.
Building their organisation over the last four decades, STEP Swindon now working with over 300 people a year. A range of programmes are now available, with evening group, Junior STEP and the monthly Saturday group.
Celebrating 40 years, STEP Swindon will be planning some events to mark this milestone, see more on their Facebook page.
