Hosted by the Swindon Dementia Action Alliance, the activities are helping to further their mission; to make Swindon a Dementia Friendly Community. Toby Kirk, business development manager at Home Instead Swindon and Vale of White Horse and new chair of the Dementia Action Alliance comments: “We care for our elderly clients within their own homes, many of whom are living with dementia. Our Care Professionals are trained to deliver specialist dementia care services, helping people to remain living in the comfort of their own homes, whilst also supporting the families of those affected.

As dementia is an issue so ingrained in our everyday lives at Home Instead, we are passionate about spreading awareness of dementia and helping those families and friends affected by the disease. We are proud to be helping the Swindon Dementia Action Alliance in their mission to make our community more dementia friendly by hosting these events, and encourage anyone who wants to know more about dementia or may be directly affected by it to come down and join us!

Bella Balaci, general manager at Ridgeway Rise care home added “We pride ourselves on the involvement of important initiatives here at Ridgeway Rise, so we’re delighted to sponsor this incredible series of events and actively work towards making Swindon and beyond more dementia friendly.

Due to recent times, now it is more important than ever to offer those affected by dementia access to the community. We support residents and their families living with dementia and we greatly appreciate the benefits and significance of socialising in dementia care. Please come and enjoy the wonderful events SDAA prepared in May.
