Swindon's iconic roundabout really was magic for the unique event staged by MINI Plant Swindon and Swindon175 on Saturday 9th July.
An incredible collection of 60 classic cars paraded around the world famous Magic Roundabout – all of which had their body panels pressed at the MINI Plant in Swindon, formerly known as Pressed Steel.
The iconic parade began at 07:00 with Minis, Rovers, Triumph, Rolls Royce and other icons of the British car industry drive around in a choreographed display.
Swindon175 marks the anniversary of the birth of new Swindon when construction began on the Great Western Railway’s locomotive repair shed. Supported by sponsors and Swindon Borough Council and managed by Business West, 2016 will see a wide range of events which will involve Swindon’s people and businesses in a celebration of the town’s rich heritage and achievements. Keep you eyes peeled for information of more Swindon175 events.
