Swindon comes sixth on 'best places to live in England' list
A new poll has ranked Swindon the sixth best place to live in England. iLiveHere.co.uk, well known for its brutal outlook on English towns, recently ran a poll looking to find the best place to live in the country.
With the votes being counted and verified, the website has now revealed Swindon has come in as the sixth best place to live in England! Also representing Wiltshire was Chippenham in at 39th, Warminster at 36th and Salisbury placed 27th - in the top 50.
The strong showing from Wiltshire will be no surprise to the residents of the county with adorable villages and picturesque countryside found in abundance.
Swindon has plenty to offer as a place to live, with cultural events taking place throughout the year, including the Swindon Spring Festival, looking at arts and literature, the Old Town Festival, and the Cheese and Chilli Festival, which can attract around 10,000 visitors.

Organisers iLiveHere seem however seem less impressed with Swindon's ranking, poking fun at the town's etymology. It said: "Who would have thought it, pig hill is the 6th best place to live in England? Well we don’t think so."
