Barbury Castle and Hackpen Hill
About: Hackpen Hill is Swindon’s highest point at approximately 260m above sea level, providing you with breath-taking views across Wroughton, Swindon and towards Oxfordshire. Barbury Castle is not too far off at approximately 250m and they both make a really pleasant outing.
We’d recommend the 2-mile walk from Barbury to Hackpen Hill – it takes you along the well-known Ridgeway track with beautiful sights to behold.

Martinsell Hill
About: Martinsell Hill is Wiltshire’s third highest viewpoint, sitting just a few miles south of Marlborough in the pretty little Wiltshire village of Oare. This beautiful viewpoint requires a bit of hill climbing (though nothing too strenuous) but the views are spectacular, offering almost panoramic views over Wiltshire’s countryside.

Uffington White Horse
About: Uffington White Horse is not only a historic landmark, but the viewpoint, which is the highest in Oxfordshire, also boasts breath-taking views across six counties. There is a little map on a large stone near the viewpoint showing you where certain landmarks are across the counties. Make sure you climb to the very top of the castle if you can, that’s where the best views are!
