Trends That Will Be a Staple in 2018
This blog post from T2 Fitness will tell you all about the fitness trends of 2018! Read on to find out more...
The Fitness Industry is a ‘trend-driven’ industry. Bodybuilding, jogging, Kettlebells, HIIT, Zumba, Group-Ex are just some of the well-known ones. They are all trends that found their start at some point and trended upwards to a peak. Some have peaked, some have descended in popularity and found their market, and others are still climbing.
There is one big area that we believe is still growing to a crescendo and that is… Hybrid Classes
Barry’s Bootcamp has been around for quite some time and has grown into a formidable brand. They led the ’Hybrid’ part of industry for quite some time and helped to set the scene for Digme Fitness, 1Rebel, KOBOX, One10 and Orange Theory among others.
The premise is simple: Interval work on the treadmill or bike followed by interval work using small equipment such as the TRX, kettlebells and/or bodyweight.
The session design, physical environment, instructor and music are what sets the previously mentioned brands apart. They all manage to create a specific atmosphere that drives participant motivation and enthusiasm through the roof!
There is also something quite intoxicating and captivating about walking into a space purposely designed to house the specific session you are about to take part in. The room isn’t used for anything else. For example, are the bikes cleared into a cupboard after a spin class to make way for a circuit session? No. These spaces have one purpose and one purpose only and the hours it takes to design and create the perfect space for you to whip yourself up into a workout frenzy is time well spent!
There are even companies specialising in designing and installing the equipment specifically for hybrid studios. The studios themselves sell merchandise and gift vouchers and make you feel like a part of a special team.
This can often be when is missing from standard health clubs. Sure, they might give you a sweat towel when you join on the platinum package but do they give you a cool moniker to brand you as their own? Are you raving about your lunchtime class back at the watercooler?
Chances are you’re not and it is this sense of commitment and inclusion that has given a real rise to the hybrid class, and the main reason I see for the continual upward trend we will see in 2018.
You can take my word for it if you like, but to feel the atmosphere and soak up the environment would be far better. The next opportunity you get to take part in a hybrid session take it! You can thank me later!
