How does blood donation work?
A blood donation is taken from your arm and collected in a donation bag.
The appointment takes around an hour, including 10 to 15 minutes to donate, plus time to have a drink and a snack.
You can donate again if you want to, leaving at least 12 weeks between appointments for men and 16 weeks for women.
