Swindon scraped a 1-1 draw at home to MK Dons on Saturday, courtesy of a Jon Obika goal one minute into second-half stoppage time and Williams openly admitted Swindon were lucky to get a point at the weekend.
The head coach, who has had little room for jovial comments this season, used laughter as his medicine for the underwhelming, but perhaps crucial, draw.
Even when Swindon scored late, they almost lost the game when Ed Upson found himself clear through on goal with only goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux to beat, but midfielder Upson blazed over the bar when under pressure.
Williams believes the club now owe man-of-the-match Vigouroux and even compared the Camden-born Chilean to Superman.
"He's made good saves and when crosses come into the box there's no better feeling than watching the goalkeeper come out and catch it, and to make saves he's got no right to make, we really owe him for this performance.
"(When Upson was closing down on goal) I was thinking Lawrence needs to have a red cape on his back and have a big 'S' on his chest to see if he can give us one more moment to rescue a point.
"He's big, gangly and coming out throwing his arms and legs everywhere with this stupid, bright kit on. No-one wants that when they're trying to concentrate."
Williams would go on to ask if 'The Great Escape' was running in the Grand National when asked what horse he was backing before suggesting Swindon might have been booking an open-top bus for an end-of-season parade if Swindon's form was more consistent.
"We've given ourselves a mountain to climb, if we performed and our results are the same as they have been the last three games all season we're booking an open-top bus but what's pleasing is that the boys are preparing to climb it, they're not shying away, they want to have a real go and give everything."
