New College Swindon Win HP Technology Package
New College is delighted to be one of only six UK winners in a national competition run by HP, entitled “Follow the Ripple.”
The College won a ‘Creative Learning Studio’ worth over £8000, for their entry submission, which included an explanation of how and why the technology and software would benefit STEM projects.
The prize includes a HP Sprout G2, a HP Probook x360 Education Edition, HP MR Headset VR1000-100nn, HP 800 Series VR Ready Desktop PC and a Dremel Idea Builder 3D40 for Education. This equipment and software will allow students to scan and print 3D items and will support staff and students with STEM projects. HP & XMA have also supplied a recent computer refresh for the College and the new Cyber Lab is furnished with HP machines.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) is already a huge focus for the College, which has invested in STEM courses, facilities and initiatives, including an annual STEM Day where local school pupils visit for an exciting day for talks, events and demos.
Ian Hole - Director of Resources & Projects, said: “We are delighted to have won this HP competition. We are eager to introduce this truly innovative Learning Studio to our students and watch the creative use they can put it to. It should really enhance their learning environment and help them enjoy and thrive in it.”
