August Talk with Ruzivo Gangaidzo

August is upon us, and it’s been hot! August is the month of holidays, summer fun and time off for many people. So how are small business owners coping with the month often known as ‘silly season’?

Today we're talking to Ruzivo Gangaidzo, who works in the marketing office of the independent fostering agency Banya. Banya was created more than 25 years ago and has since helped 1000s of children to have safe homes across the UK and from overseas.

How has August been for your business?
August has been a time where a lot of our staff and foster families have been on their summer holidays. We've been sharing some of the days out on our Instagram https://www.instagram.com/banyafostering/

What were your personal plans for this month?
I've been on my summer holiday and also spent from August 17 - 21 in Birmingham at a Church leadership conference with 700-1000 delegates attending. I'm the main design person and was responsible for the branding of the event as well as developing and managing the conference registration portal/ landing page. I was also the lead person for the conference official opening ceremony and the deputy for the music team.

Did you know August 21 was World Entrepreneurs Day? What does this word mean to you, and do you apply it to yourself?
It means a lot as I also work with young people outside of my work with Banya. I give talks to young people on entrepreneurship.

Yes, things have gone up and it’s affecting most people. My tips for everyone are to look at where you are shopping - can you change where you shop?, Keep an eye on your spendings and then look back to see where you are spending money the most and to also check for unused subscriptions.
