Autumn Talk with Jamie Martin of Correct Careers Coaching

OCTOBER is here, the month the clocks go back, Halloween turns up and it’s dark nights and dark mornings. Yet what is the business landscape like this moth – we talk to business owners every week about their stories.

Today we’re talking to Jamie Martin, managing director and founder of Correct Careers Coaching.

Correct Careers Coaching delivers modern sales training (full sales cycle) including social media marketing/prospecting, lead generation, new business conversion, client relationship management, negotiation, as well as our own pioneering programme - sales psychology.

As well as helping streamline business sales strategy - enhancing a strategic approach to selling, resources, developing employees' sales skills, ICT/materials utilised during the sales process, etc.

What’s coming up for your business/organisation in Q4?
I am collaborating to host another LinkedIn workshop. As well as catching up with previous clients and onboarding new clients. And enjoying the Christmas festivities!

October represents several awareness months, are there any that are relevant to you or your business?
Breast cancer awareness is close to my heart due to my Nan passing from cancer when I was 17.

Are you doing anything in October for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
For my birthday this year on Tuesday 11th October, in honor of my Nan (June Forfar) who passed from cancer, I’ve asked for support and donations to Cancer Research UK. I chose this non-profit because their mission means a lot to me.

Did you know October 10 was World Mental Health Day – how important is this subject in your business and in your life? Why:
This is also an important subject and day to make aware. Mental Health has an impact on our lives/people we know. This is time to support and care for those who are affected by this.

What practical activities do you participate in at home or at work to protect your mental health?
For me personally, exercise helps me clear my mind, reset, and think about how to deal with important situations.

Clocks go back this month and we get an extra hour in bed. How do you feel about the darker nights etc?
I don’t mind the darker nights, but I am not a fan of the cold weather!
