Caroline Peyton, of Peyton Principles, has a busy July coming up!
It’s July which is the second summer month and one which has a real sporty feel – including the Wimbledon, British Open Golf and the Tour de France! We would like to invite you to take part in our July Q&A where we welcome the thoughts of SME owners locally, regionally and nationally.
Today we’re talking to Caroline Peyton of Peyton Principles, a nutritionist, naturopath, and gut health expert helping those who suffer with unresolved digestive and gut symptoms to finally find relief. She also provides workshops to employers to help fuel a high-performance culture. Caroline is Swindon and Cotswolds based but also works online globally.
What are your plans for July in your business?
I have just launched my Energise to Optimise Speaker website to promote the role of nutrition and productivity in the workplace. I’m taking the opportunity now to start actively engaging with companies, especially in the local area.

What are your personal plans for this month?
It’s been a busy couple of months with holidays and several concerts ( as well as work), but I will be (attempting) to be a good nurse caring for my husband post knee replacement surgery from mid-July onwards, so no more days out for me for a while.
Do you like sport – and if so do any sporting tournaments or events stand out for you this month or coming up? Do you engage in any sports you’d like to mention? Are you a member of a local team at all
I’d rather do sport than watch sport although at key moments I will watch exciting games. Sunday 14th July was Wimbledon men’s final and the Euros final with England hoping to win so it will probably be a busy day.
My main activity through the Summer though is eventing with my horse Rolo. This is dressage, show jumping and cross-country jumping on one day. I do this for fun and no longer seek to compete at higher levels. I’m getting too old and the fear factor looking at those bigger solid jumps takes over!
On a much lighter note – July 17 is World Emoji Day and this often trends on social media. What do you think of emojis? Do you use them?
I do use emojis on my social media posts- it makes them more fun. I guess one of my favourites is the one of poo- since I specialise in gut health!
Can you name one business you’d like to give a summer shout out too? Who has gone the extra mile for you recently?
Louise Joyce CEO of The Natural Dispensary in Stroud. I recommend this online natural health website to my clients (and for myself) as stockists of superb natural products and supplements. Louise is a very busy lady but always has time to support and promote therapists. Louise has just been a guest on my podcast Nutrition Life Stories and she took time recently to show me around the warehouse and meet some of the team. https://naturaldispensary.co.uk/
As a consumer have you visited a local business, bought their products or services and thought ‘I must recommend them’! If so here’s your chance – what business would you recommend this summer?
I’d like to recommend Liz Coe in Fairford. She is a superb beautician offering advanced treatments (I’ve been seeing Liz for many years) and has just launched her own luxury effective skincare range which I can highly recommend. https://www.facebeautycompany.co.uk/
Have you got any events planned for the coming months which you’d like to mention – where you and/or your business will take a leading role?
I am running my 5th luxury Naturopathic retreat day on 16th October and you can secure your place for just £50 now at the early bird price until the end of July.

The theme is Supercharge your Brain- the 8 essential steps to help protect your brain from cognitive decline including Dementia, held at the stunning Cotswold Park Barns, with a special breathwork session, nourishing food and so much more.
October may seem ages away but I know that by the time Summer holidays are over, the date will be almost upon us.
Anything else you’d like to say?
It’s July and let’s be positive we will see some more sun this Summer. Please take every opportunity to be outside in the sun. Not only does it lift our mood but Vitamin D (obtained from direct contact of the sun on our skin) has a key role in brain health. It’s neuroprotective and a study in 2023 found those with higher levels had better cognitive function with a stronger memory and a slower progression of cognitive decline.
