Caroline Peyton of Peyton Principles is professional Nutritionist, Naturopath and gut health expert.
Here she explains why she is excited to host her first Ladies Luxury Naturopathic Nutrition Retreat Day.
On 22nd February I shall am hosting my first Ladies Luxury Naturopathic Nutrition Retreat Day at the Cotswold Park Barns. It is almost full so grab your place now! https://www.peytonprinciples.com/ladies-luxury-health-retreat/
This is a day for ladies to come together in a supportive environment and learn from Caroline’s immense knowledge on how to best support your health in your 40s and beyond. Once you have the right nutrition foundations in place you can feel revitalised and ten years younger! You should have an extra bounce in your step, your joints should move more freely.
A day to pamper your soul with likeminded ladies who understand the importance of caring for your bodies especially into later life. Caroline will be cooking and providing all the food on the day including a nourishing, warming, plant based lunch.
Two valuable naturopathic tips you can incorporate into your life right now to help you feel more vitalised:
1. Incorporate deep breathing into your daily habits. This is not just for yoga and pilates. Deep breathing is useful whenever we feel stressed as it helps the body switch from “fight and flight” to “rest and digest” and immediately creates a feeling of calm. It is valuable to do a few deep breaths before eating as it helps prepare the body ready to digest food-many people show signs of poor digestion. It helps to encourage movement of lymph through the body. Lymph carries waste from our cells and tissues and is a site for white blood cell production. Stagnant lymph can impair an efficient immune system and increase toxicity.
2. Start to increase the amount of plant food into your diet aiming for 40 different plant foods each week. This does not mean you must follow a vegan or vegetarian diet as a high plant food intake (alongside meat and fish for example) is a healthier option than starchy carbohydrates like pasta. Plants are rich in vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that help protect the body. They are rich in soluble and insoluble fibre to help keep the gut healthy, encourage bowel movements and feed beneficial bacteria (that in turn support our overall health).
