Hannah Edwards, of Empowered VA Services, has a crazy April coming up!
It’s April, the second month of Spring and does this mean April showers or will it be a time of sunshine end to end? We’re catching up with some business owners this month to see how things are looking for them during April.
Today we’re talking to Hannah Edwards of Empowered VA Services. Hannah is a virtual assistant and social media manager based in Swindon. She helps small businesses gain back their time by doing the tasks that they hate so that they can concentrate on the big picture work.
April is the first month with lighter evenings. How are you making the most of this?
I love that the lighter evenings are here. I hate the thought of finishing work in the pitch black so I’m going to be taking advantage of getting out for some fresh air once my work days are done!
How is April looking for you in your business?
April is already shaping up to be a busy time with networking and, of course, seeing all the wonderful winners at the Great British Business and Community Awards on April 18th.
I love being involved with the team and getting to tell people that they’ve been nominated or shortlisted and then seeing their faces when they win! There are a few people that I know who won at the South West regionals who are up for awards at the nationals so I’m excited to be there supporting them!
Are you doing anything for charity or community this month that you’d like to share?
The awards on the 18th will be raising money for a wonderful charity called Cherishers who do some brilliant work in the North of England.
This month it’s Stress Awareness Month, what does stress mean to you? Do you support people with stress?
I don’t specifically support people with stress but I hope that I help people be free of stress by doing their social media and admin tasks that may stress them out!
I can get stressed quite easily so I’m trying to take moments out when I feel myself getting stressed to breathe and relax before getting back to the task at hand.
Some key awareness days/weeks/months in April include;
- National Pet Month
- Allergy Awareness Week – April 22 to 28
- National Scrabble Day – April 13
- World Heritage Day – April 18
There are many more – are there any awareness days/weeks/months which are particularly important for your business?
Anyone that knows me knows that I love my cats so be prepared to see them a lot more throughout the month. They help me stay stress free by coming for cuddles right at the moment that I feel it’s getting too much.
April 21st is National Tea Day so I’ll be enjoying even more of my favourite drink to celebrate! It’s also the London Marathon so I’ll be cheering friends on from my sofa! Good luck to everyone taking part!
Have you got any special offers for April or May that you’d like to mention?
I’m opening up my diary for social media page audits again so if you’d like to know more book in for them by emailing [email protected] and mention ‘TGApril’ and you can get a Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn audit for £30 instead of the normal £45!
Anything else you’d like to say?
Just a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me on this crazy ride, particularly Fiona Scott, Lis McDermott, Barbara Leatham, Jodie Fraser, Yvonne Parker, everyone at Businesswise Swindon and everyone else that I was unable to list!
