HOME BARGAINS TO OPEN NEW STORE IN SWINDON CREATING 110 NEW JOBS WITH £4.5M INVESTMENT
Home Bargains has invested approximately £4.5m into its new store in Swindon, on Great Western Way, Cirencester Way, which will be officially opened at 8.00 am on 26th August 2023.
As one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, Home Bargains is creating 110 new jobs in the local community with its store in Swindon. In total, it will employ 130 team members, including 20 members of staff and management, who will be transferring from local stores.
It will also be donating £2,000 to a local charity, Swindon Food Collective, which provides food support to those people that are facing a crisis by collecting, sorting and re-distributing donated non-perishable food items to those who have very little or no provisions.
A spokesperson from Swindon Food Collective said: "The donation from Home Bargains is very appreciated and will go towards enabling the Swindon Food Collective to meet the ever-increasing demand for food for those people who are facing a crisis at this time. With this support, we will rise to this challenge and work positively to help as many people as we can".
The new Swindon 2 store will join over 575 outlets across the UK. Opening approximately 50 stores a year, Home Bargains is bucking current trends in the industry.
Yulia Garbatiuk, the new Swindon 2 store manager, is excited to manage the new store after working for the business for five years, starting as a Team Member in the Swindon Barnfield Road store before working her way up through the business at a variety of stores around the area including Barnfield, Swindon, Wantage, Faringdon, Newbury & Oxford. Yulia’s last role was Store Manager in Faringdon, where the store was recently chosen as the Area Store of the Year.
