Janet Shreeve of Shreeve Care Services has an exciting November and December planned!
IT’S NOVEMBER! The year is coming to an end and Q4 is well under way. Businesses across the UK are preparing for the final two months of the year.
Today we’re talking to Janet Shreeve who is director of Shreeve Care Services. They provide business development to care providers, advice to clients looking for care options and they also provide a bidding service to get on to frameworks. Janet is sharing with us what the end of the year will bring for her company.
What’s your business highlight for this month or last month?
My business highlight has been starting my podcast, ‘You Care, I Care’ launching on November 9th. It’s not something I ever thought I would do and it is focused on all aspects of the care sector. I’m very excited about it.
And what about a personal highlight?
I think for me my personal highlight has to be spending time with my great friends in Italy!
November 5th was Bonfire Night! Does this hold meaning or memory for you?
I remember Bonfire Night as a child with a big bonfire in the garden and cooking jacket potatoes which never quite seemed to be cooked properly!
November represents Movember – Men’s Health Awareness Month and International Men’s Day (Nov 19). What, if anything, does this mean to you?
Working in the care sector, I feel that men try to hide any problems they have rather than discussing them. Some men feel that this makes them weak whereas the opposite is true – it makes them strong.
Are you doing anything in November or December for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
I am working with a charity that provides care and support for disabled people going on holiday
What’s your top tip for being positive as we enter the last month of autumn?
My top tip for everyone would be to be thankful for friends and family – they are the best thing in our lives.
Did you know November 13 is World Kindness Day – has anyone shown kindness to you in the last month or so? Tell us how you view kindness in your business or professional role.
Yes, my colleague Julie Prowse is one of the kindest people I know, she is always there to support when having a bad day and she has been a godsend in my life. I must also mention Jodie Fraser who is one the most inspiring people I have met.
It’s also Black Friday this month which is now quite mainstream – do you participate in this within your business? Or do you prefer the Buy Nothing Day?
I much prefer the Buy Nothing Day both personally and within the business!
Are you preparing for Christmas in your business? What are your plans going to be?
Christmas can be a very busy time in the care sector- we are already looking a ways in which both our business clients and private clients may need support over the Christmas period in particular giving a lot of advice to private clients as to the options that are available to them
Have you got any events planned for November or December you’d like to shout about?
I’m excited to say that my lovely daughter is taking me to the Chanel Exhibition in London and then afternoon tea at the Tiffany Café in Harrods
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
Anyone wanting advice with regards to care – we are offering a free 15 minute consultation and if we have to do further work we are able to offer a very competitive service.
And finally, is there anything else you’d like to say?
Yes – massive thank you as always to Fiona Scott PR as both Fiona and Hannah provide a hugely impressive and supportive service for which I am extremely grateful.
