July Talk with Stephanie Nunley of Bower Bailey Solicitors
It’s almost the end of July which is the second summer month and one which has a real sporty feel – including the Wimbledon, British Open Golf and the Tour de France! This month we’re talking to SME owners locally, regionally and nationally about the events happening within their business this month.
Today we’re talking to Stephanie Nunley who is a solicitor and business development manager with Bower Bailey Solicitors based in Swindon.
What are your plans for July in your business?
Swindon is certainly very busy during JUly. We are looking to recruit new Solicitors and support team members to satisfy the growing demand for legal services from our clients.
What are your personal plans for this month?
I am looking forward to holidaying in Pembrokeshire with my family as we will be celebrating my father- in -law’s 80th Birthday. I just hope that the weather is kind to us!
Does July hold any particular significance for you or your business/organisation?
It will be an auspicious time as we celebrate fifty years of Bower Bailey. The firm was founded in Oxford in 1973 by David Bower and my colleague Simon Smith set up the Swindon office in 1985 some 28 years ago. So, we’ve got a lot to celebrate as we reflect on this formidable milestone.
Do you like sports and if so, do any sporting tournaments or events stand out for you this month?
I love tennis and keenly followed by Wimbledon. It did not disappoint. Bower Bailey had close links with Marlborough Tennis as we were part of the Business Club in recent years. My interest started at school where I was a keen player and also a member of my local tennis club.
On a much lighter note, July 17 was World Emoji Day and this often trends on social media. What do you think of emojis?
Who doesn’t love an emoji? My favourite is the laughing emoji as I think it’s always important to try and keep your sense of humour. No matter what life throws at you.
Can you name one business you’d like to give a summer shout out too?
A personal favourite is Rudi’s bar which is perfectly positioned on Regent Circus for coffee, Lunch or after work drinks. The atmosphere is always welcoming and I love the food and having lunch there. You can watch the world go by! Rudisbar.com
As a consumer have you visited a local business, bought their products or services and thought ‘I must recommend them’! What business would you recommend this summer?
On a personal level I would recommend Bert’s Books in Old Town. I love following them on Twitter as they are so witty. I have a reading subscription with Bert’s Books and every month receive a book (or two!) in the post. This always cheers me up. I am a true book worm! Bower Bailey is sponsoring the Swindon Youth Festival of Literature again for 2023 and I am proud of our ongoing involvement in such an important initiative which supports our next generation of readers, illustrators and authors.
Have you got any events planned for the coming months which you’d like to mention – where you and/or your business will take a leading role?
Yes, we have recently hosted our 50th Anniversary Golf Day and the Swindon office will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary in the coming months.
Are you raising money for charity or volunteering this month in any way?
This year we’ve been happy to support the Neuro Wellbeing Centre in Swindon. They are a fantastic charity and help people with a range of issues including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Fibromyalgia, ME, Stroke, Alzheimer’s and Cerebral Palsy. One of my colleague’s Kate Gitsham has been drafting wills for some of the members, friends and supporters. Bower Bailey have waived their fee for donations to the Charity and thus far have raised over £1000 (one thousand pounds) for the Neuro Wellbeing Centre [email protected] 01793 481 700 neurowellbeingcentre.co.uk Beth Gardner is the Centre Manager.
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
Well summer is here and it’s always a good time to make sure your legal affairs are in good order so get in touch if we can help you with anything including wills, trusts, probate, divorce or children matters or conveyancing
Anything else you’d like to say?
Thank you to the Swindon and Wiltshire community that has supported us for half a century. Half a century! We look forward to being your legal partner of choice for many decades to come.
