June Talk with Carly Siden
It's almost the end of June and the second month of summer is on the horizon. Wimbledon is starting, summer fever is building and holiday season is kicking in. What news from the local business community? Today we're talking to Carly Siden who is the shop manager of Easyriders which is a watersports school covering kitesurfing, windsurfing, SUP and more, based in Sandbanks, Poole.
JUNE is the first month of summer – what will you be doing this summer in your role?
As we are now fully into the summer season, we are open every day, 9am until late, so that we can accommodate all of the lessons we have booked in!
We have our youth courses running (next one in July), we will also be renting SUPs, kayaks, all water sports kit, e-bikes, etc all day everyday! I will be running the shop on Shore Road, which is also open everyday.
What are your personal plans for summer?
Working at Easyriders will take up most of my summer, but it’s so much fun to be here, it doesn’t feel like work!
June is often associated in nature with growth and abundance – what are your plans for growth?
We are always looking to improve the way we do things. We are constantly reviewing our activities and items that we sell in our club. We have recently started “Winging Wednesdays” which is an early evening session that we run every three weeks for any kind of Winging action! (BBQ and drinks included!)
As we hit this mid point of 2022– which one business has really supported or helped you over the last quarter?
Hard question, as we have worked closely with all of our suppliers over the last quarter, especially when we held our first anniversary, as a lot of our water sports brands came to support us for this.
June 1 to 7 this year was Volunteers Week – do you volunteer at all and if so, where and why?
We have volunteered for various beach clean projects, both in the UK and abroad!
June 30 is Social Media Day – what does social media mean to you and your business? What are your favourite social media platforms?
Our favourite platform at the moment is probably Instagram. It’s such a good platform to document what we do through pictures, which really works for marketing. The reel feature is also super useful to us, and engages with larger audiences.
Have you got any summer services or special offers you’d like to mention?
During the summer season, we run ladies' SUP Nights on a Thursday evening, Sunday SUP sessions, youth week courses, etc.
And finally:
Everyone is always welcome here, even for a cuppa or shelter from the rain!
